December, 2011- Robotics Learning is proud to announce that The Malay College Kuala Kangsar will be the first school in Malaysia to form a complete club using VEX Robotics Design System which will benefit up to 40 students. The students are currently preparing for the 2012 VEX Robotics Competition World Championship which will be held from 18-21 April 2012 at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, California. The student selection will be based on student’s dedication, robot design and ability to programme the robot according to the mission given. There are 30 robotics club members at present and we are hoping to expand the club by the end of this year. Students and teachers were also given a 3 days training which includes on understanding various robotics components, design and building of a robot and programming aspect of the robot which uses the C-programming.
On 8th of September 2011, the Managing Director of Robotics Learning (M) Sdn Bhd, Ilylia Kamaruzaman was interviewed by Bis Malaysia RTM 1, “Randau Bersama CEO” section. The 20 minutes interview covered topics such as the company background history, vision, mission, activities, projects and future planning of the company. Program Kursus Asas Robotik ini adalah anjuran bersama Kolej Komuniti Bentong Dan Robotics Learning (M) Sdn Bhd. Kursus ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pendedahan asas pembelajaran robotik kepada para pelajar di sekitar daerah Bentong. Kursus ini telah diadakan selama 2 hari di setiap sekolah yang terpilih. Program Latihan 1Malaysia anjuran Kolej Komuniti ini telah dijalankan daripada bulan Mei 2011 sehingga Ogos 2011 dan melibatkan sebanyak 5 buah sekolah dan 150 orang pelajar. Setiap sekolah yang menjalani kursus asas robotik akan mendapat set VEX Robotics untuk kegunaan pelajar.
Sekolah-sekolah yang terlibat ialah SMK Lurah Bilut, SM Vokasional Tengku Ampuan Afzan, SMK Telemong, SMK Kuala Repas dan SMK Karak.
On the 14th of April 2011, a group of student and teacher from SMK Bukit Bandaraya, Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur competed at the 2011 VEX Robotics Competition World Championship which was held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The 3 days competition took place from 14th to 16thof April 2011. Malaysia sole representative was a Form 3 student from SMK Bukit Bandaraya, Ali Imran Bin Mohd Salleh who was accompanied by a teacher, Zairul Syazeri.
Pagoh, 23 February 2010 – Tan Sri Dato’ Muhyiddin bin Yassin today graced the final day of two-day Robotics Workshop organised jointly by Robotics Learning (M) Sdn. Bhd. and Sekreteriat Pendidikan Parlimen Pagoh.
The Robotics Workshop provides secondary school students from the age of 14 to 16 years in the Parliament of Pagoh an exposure to the world of robotics. The two-day workshop gave the students the opportunity of experiencing hands-on project on building, testing and competing with their own robots based on the VeX Training Kit. The workshop also helped the students to cultivate their soft skills in terms of teamwork, creative thinking, systematic planning, time management, and enhancing problem solving skills.
Realising the timely need of catching up with the Developed World and the increasing importance of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), Educational Robotics classroom-based training and curriculum provides an opportunity of incorporating enjoyment in learning of STEM subjects and the Arts.
Robotics Learning works with the world famous VEX educational robotics kits from Innovation First Inc. in the USA. Used by secondary schools throughout the world, the vex educational robotics are used by all ages from about 10 years and above and truly help student master a whole of skills including both STEM as well as a range of soft skills such as creative and innovative thinking, team work, systematic planning and communications skills. VEX organises robotics competitions throughout the world.
The two-day workshop takes place on 22nd February 2010 from 8:00am to 10:00pm and 23rd February 2010 from 8:30am to 4:00pm. The workshop is located at the Wisma Pekembar, Pagoh, Johor Darul Takzim.
